The 2030 Agenda raises the urgency of achieving gender equality through the 17 SDGs, with a transformative vision towards equality and economic, social and environmental sustainability. SDG 5 establishes "Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls" as a goal in itself, while the achievement of gender equality is raised in a cross-cutting way and inseparable from the rest of the Goals of the Agenda (ECLAC, 2022a).
